The Challenge

Miller Mountain High Performance is Pottstown’s premier high-performance automotive shop, specializing in dyno tuning, custom turbo installs, superchargers, nitrous systems, roll cages, engine rebuilds, and track-ready upgrades. Before the project began, their website was very basic with several broken pages, outdated content, and no mobile optimization. It failed to showcase the shop’s raw energy, made dyno bookings confusing, and ranked poorly for local searches like “dyno tuning Pottstown” or “performance shop near me.” Customers had no clear way to submit build details, explore services, or get excited about what the shop could do for their ride.

I designed and developed the entire site from the ground up in WordPress + Divi, delivering a loud, fast, mobile-first experience that matches the shop’s in-your-face attitude.

A New Look

BoilerSaver supplies USA-made chemical treatments and lubricants for antique steam locomotives, model live steam engines, steam tractors, and heritage railroads. Their previous site was outdated, hard to navigate on mobile, and invisible in search results for terms like “steam boiler treatment” or “model locomotive maintenance.” Product discovery was buried, forms were clunky, and the legacy logo no longer reflected their technical precision or trusted reputation among 10,000+ steam enthusiasts worldwide.

The Logo

The original BoilerSaver logo was a low-resolution bitmap of a vintage steam boiler wrapped in a life preserver. It was iconic but blurry on screens and impossible to scale for shirts, signs, or business cards.

I rebuilt it from scratch in Adobe Illustrator as a clean, scalable vector while keeping the client’s must-have element: the life preserver.

  • Redrew the boiler with precise lines and subtle shading for depth
  • Strengthened the life preserver with crisp curves and consistent thickness
  • Replaced the old font with a bold, modern serif that reads clearly at any size
  • Created variants: full color, monochrome, inverted, and one-color for embroidery/print

Result: A professional, versatile logo that honors heritage and scales perfectly from favicon to vehicle wrap. Ready for digital, apparel, signage, and packaging.

I built a customized bot to act as a secretary and mascot for KUDC. She helps verify users, answer questions, crack jokes, supply maps of the campus, and act as the face of KUDC. The community loves her witty responses and sudden interjections into conversations. She’s quirky and perfect.

Keeping the community involved and helping our members come out of their shells is what we do. Through weekly ritual game nights, and our Halloween party, we help members who would normally find themselves isolated, happily laughing with the group.

Getting Through COVID Together

KUDC was launched in late 2019 before the word coronavirus was a common term, but when KU was sent home indefinitely after spring break 2020, we knew we had a duty to help our fellow students feel like they still had a community to rely on. Before January 2020 KUDC boasted a humble 50 members, but since the chaos of the pandemic, we experienced numbers as mighty as 600+ students and alumni. The KUDC staff and I have received lots of compliments and feedback from our community about how much we helped stabilize a fracturing and anxious campus community through our efforts at KUDC.

Unique Expression

We want to employ our members to express themselves in fun and unique ways, with that, I myself have created a large swath of custom KU and KUDC-themed emojis for our members to use in our server. Happy, sad, angry, laughing uncontrollably, or just plain smug, we have it all.
